Below are the top 10 most efficient full-size cars in order of increasing city
fuel consumption.
Its surprising that there aren't more hybrids in this class of car because their relatively cost, high weight and large engines would mean that hybrid systems should be viable and provide large fuel savings.
At the present time
the top 10 is dominated by regular gasoline engines. The Sonata
and the Accord easily beat the competition. The main reason for this would be because of their smaller engines
with only 4 cylinders.

HYUNDAI SONATA
The most efficient full-size car is the Hyundai Sonata.
The Sonata is well established. Its now in its sixth incarnation and the latest version has a new 2.4L engine
with improved fuel consumption over the old engine thanks to direct injection
technology. The Hyundai Sonata has also been praised by reviewers for excellent safety
and low depreciation.
A hybrid Sonata is also due possibly this year and will use the latest lithium polymer battery
technology for maximum power and low weight.
