Most Efficient Pick Up Trucks
Below are the top 10 most efficient pick up trucks ordered by city
fuel consumption in litres per 100km.
There's a wide range of trucks here from budget trucks with small engines, to large 6.0 litre hybrids. There's also four wheel drives and larger crew cabs. There's probably something for everyone in the top ten.
If you're looking for maximum power and four wheel drive in a truck you can't beat the hybrids from Chevrolet and GMC. Their huge 6.0 litre engines will provide all the pulling power you need, yet return an incredible 10.2 litres per 100km in the city, only 0.2 less than the top ranked Tacoma which has a comparatively puny 2.7 litre.

TOYOTA TACOMA 2WD
The Toyota Tacoma is the most efficient pick up truck. Its relatively small physical size and small fuel efficient 2.7 litre engine with four cylinders are the reasons behind its low fuel economy. Despite this, its engine is still good for 159 hp.
The Tacoma, currently in its second generation, has been around since 2005 however it did have a minor facelift in 2009 which included a revised grille and new LED taillamps. In 2012, the Tacoma is expected to be totally redesigned and re-engineered.
The Toyota Tacoma is rear wheel drive and is 4.83 metres long, although there are longer access and double cab versions available. All Tacoma's have a bed that includes a deck rail system with tie down cleats, hook-pins and storage boxes.
